New Vaccine Education Tools for Employee Communications

Two new resources to help employers share facts about COVID-19 vaccines

Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the United States are now among people who weren’t vaccinated, according to new analysis by the Associated Press. State and county-level data reinforce that rates of new infection and hospitalization are dropping in places where most residents have been immunized, and are rising in many places where people have not. In Missouri, which has one of the country's lowest vaccination rates, new cases are up 71 percent, fueled largely by a surge in the highly transmissible Delta variant. These trends underscore the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and suggest that deaths — now down to around 300 per day — could be practically zero if everyone eligible got the shot.

Meanwhile, according to new polling data released today by KFF, workers are more likely to get a COVID-19 vaccine when their employers encourage it and provide paid time off for vaccinations. About three-quarters of workers whose employers encourage getting a vaccine (73%) or offer paid time off to do so (75%) say they have gotten at least one shot, significantly more than the shares whose employers don’t encourage vaccination (41%) or don’t offer paid time off (51%).

As more employers return to in-person work, we're releasing two new resources to help you share facts about COVID-19 vaccines and encourage employees who are still on the fence to get their jabs.

VACCINE VIDEO SERIES

We’ve developed a comprehensive vaccine education curriculum designed to help your employees understand the science behind vaccines. These short videos explore how the human body fights infectious diseases, offers facts about COVID-19 vaccine safety and efficacy, and explains what you can expect when you get vaccinated. We encourage you to share these videos with employees and workers who want to learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and how they save lives.

INCENTIVES NAVIGATOR

Popular brands and retailers across the country have created unique incentives to encourage customers and employees to get vaccinated.

We've created this interactive digital tool that provides more details about special offers, discounts, sweepstakes and other perks to boost vaccine confidence and uptake. We encourage you to share our incentives navigator with employees who may need extra support or encouragement to get their shots.

New Initiative on Childhood Vaccinations

We’re launching a new, coordinated effort by employers, business groups and public health organizations to help families vaccinate their children against COVID-19 and catch up on other routine immunizations that may have been delayed during the pandemic.

Now that children ages 12 and older are eligible for COVID-19 vaccines, getting them vaccinated as soon as possible is a business and public health priority — protecting children, safely reopening schools, and helping employees reliably return to work. Businesses across the country are stepping up, organizing on-site vaccination clinics for families or offering paid time off, transportation, childcare and other support to workers who may need help getting their children vaccinated.

Employer Survey

We’ve teamed up with the National Safety Council to survey businesses about ways they’re managing this phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and preparing for safer workplace returns. If your company has adjusted operations to protect worker health and safety, we invite you to complete this short survey so we can better serve your needs.
