The fight to end HIV in the U.S. is gaining momentum, with business leaders stepping up to make a difference. A recent article in POZ Magazine highlights the efforts of U.S. Business Action to End HIV to bring corporate influence into the fight against the epidemic.
Nearly 80 companies, including ViiV, Gilead, Uber, Walmart, and Chevron, are taking action and making a lasting impact through initiatives that improve access to HIV services, educate employees, and promote policy change. From Match Group's partnership with the Together Take Me Home initiative to Walgreens turning hundreds of stores into free HIV testing sites, these actions show the power of business to drive change and save lives.
In the POZ article, Vikki Walton, Sr. Principal and Health Equity Leader at Mercer, said, “Employees value and trust their employers when it comes to their health.” She emphasized that businesses don’t need to wait for legislation to make a difference 一 they can help change the health outcomes of their employees and communities right now.
